If you are reading this, then you are looking at the new look of Snapshot Northwest! Well, not quite. I have decided to migrate the site from Joomla to Wordpress for various reasons. Over the next few weeks I plan to get a similar look going for the site as at the old site. I already have the (very few) posts from the old site transferred. Once I get the new gallery system hashed and the new site’s look finalized I will close down the old site and this one will go in its place at snapshotnorthwest.com.
I’m still alive, this project has just been on the back burner for a while. Namely because I spent the last two years at Washington State University, which incidentally is home to some lovely scenery. I am currently seeking employment so that is taking some of my time, but over this summer I plan to update this site more now that I can spend some more time with it. I would like to know how many people actually look at this site regularly for updates. Please send email to kered@snapshotnorthwest.com if you do.
Sorry I haven’t gotten around to updating this site lately, but I’ve been preparing for other big things going on in my life. This weekend, however, I am going to Gig Harbor, WA to the Washington Rennaissance and Fantasy Faire. On my journey I plan to take many pictures of the beautiful mountain scenery as well as the majestic Washington coast. Look for updates within the next week.
Well, its yard sale season again, and i was faced with the evil task of removing all the debris that has built up over the last year. I came across 5 unused rolls of film. I haven’t used a film camera since the summer of 2004, when I was on vacation in France. I need to use these rolls, so I am going to abandon the digital for a while and dust off my old Minolta XD-11 and Minolta Maxxum 50 cameras. I will hopefully have a page up soon detailing the equipment I use to take these photos.
I got the gallery system up and running this evening and added one picture to it for now for test purposes. Browse through the gallery and see how you like it. You can download the pictures you want by clicking the lightbox icon beside each one. Once you have found ones you like, you can download a zip file containing all your favorites! I will put up a visual howto sometime.
Welcome to my newest site, Snapshot Northwest! Over the next few weeks I will be developing and rolling out this website as a valuable photographic library for anyone who appreciates fine scenery, specifically that of the pacific northwest. As a native of the region, I often take the great scenery all around for granted until i find myself in a concrete jungle, something I never had thought of, living in such a different setting. I hope this site will soon be an eye opener for anyone who wants to let their minds escape their own urban complex. Again, I welcome you to SNW, and check back often for additions and updates. –Kered
